3 Key Practices of Top-Producing Real Estate Professionals

Anna Kinney, Chief Product Officer

In our interactions with hundreds of thousands of agents, many of whom are high producers, we've identified a handful of trends that can help elevate your real estate business. Here are three key practices shared by top agents and brokers in the industry:

1. Prompt and Effective Communication

High-producing agents and brokers are quick to respond. They make it a priority to answer their phones whenever possible. While 24/7 availability is unrealistic, a quick text reply when they can't pick up a call can make a big difference. Here’s a common message they use:

“Hi, I’m sorry I can’t take your call as I’m currently at a showing. But I’m available over text! How can I help?”

This approach ensures that no lead falls through the cracks and helps screen calls from unrecognized numbers. Learn how to create your own custom reply messages:

2. Complete and Engaging Online Profiles

Top producers ensure their Zillow, Realtor, and Homes.com profiles are complete and up-to-date. It's crucial to make it easy for potential clients to find you and your contact information. The best profiles feature:

  • A clear, professional, and recent profile picture.

  • Detailed descriptions that provide insight into the agent or broker as a person.

  • Current listings and past sales to showcase activity and capability.

Updating photos and descriptions is the agent's responsibility, while past sales can be imported directly from MLS. Here is more information on how these platforms integrate with MLS and how you can get your past sales to display:

3. Focus on What Works for You

While testing different marketing channels and business strategies is important, high producers understand they can't do it all. For example, many have excellent social media profiles and regularly post to reach new clients. However, others don’t use social media for business, having found other marketing strategies more effective. The key is to be pragmatic about where you invest your time and efforts. If something like social media isn't yielding results, it's okay to focus elsewhere.

We hope you found these three tips helpful. We are always eager to learn and build Tongo features to help agents and brokers be successful. Feel free to share your thoughts or ask questions at support@gettongo.com.
